VIASINC is a simulated software program combining lessons and an Emulator to transform the student's computer into a close approximation of a live computer reservation system. VIASINC is used to access information and to create industry-standard passenger name records.
ITC4 / Introduction to Computers
This course is a broad-based introduction to using a personal computer. It teaches the fundamentals of an operating system and the most popular application software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. You will also learn about the Internet, Web browsers, electronic mail and antivirus software. The course is based on the Windows 7 operating system, Microsoft office 2013 and a variety of popular software programs for the Internet-related and security-related applications
CES4 / Career & Employment Strategies
This course builds on the skills learned in the Student Success Strategies course. It provides information on how to use the communication skills learned in order to make a successful presentation to a prospective employer. Students also learn how to uncover the hidden job market and identify employment opportunities. Self-assessment during this course allows students to identify their personal skills that are transferable to the workplace and to describe these skills to a prospective employer. Students are videotaped during a mock interview and participate in the analysis of their performance in the “interview”.
SAB4 / SABRE
Using the VIASINC simulated software program, students will convert skills learned in the Apollo course to SABRE format.
SCR4 / Selling Cruises
Selling fundamentals are taught in conjunction with the overall cruising experience.
SSK4 / Selling Skills
This course is designed to provide practice in using the essential sales skills required to effectively assist customers in a travel agency environment. Using a variety of instructional methods which include role plays, case studies, group exercises, and discussion, students practice the customer service and communication skills required for success in today's business environment.
SSS4 / Student Success Strategies
Students will gain a better understanding of themselves through an exploration of their personal attributes, transferable skills and learning styles. This course will introduce techniques for time, conflict, and stress management and develop interpersonal communication skills. Fundamental study and motivation skills will be covered, preparing students to excel in their program of choice.
TTG4 / Tariffs and Ticketing
Costing and creating itineraries best suited to client needs, along with the completion and processing of airline documents, are the focus of this course.
TOU4 / Tours
With the use of wholesaler tour and charter brochures, the student will examine how travel products are marketed and sold to meet the needs of today’s traveler.
TAO4 / Travel Agency Operations
This course concentrates on the daily operations within a travel agency with a focus on automated accounting and an overview of the Internet.
TRC4 / Travel Components
The many components of the travel industry are brought together to complete the total travel product for all types of clients, following established legal guidelines.
TRF4 / Travel Fundamentals
Designed as a basic introduction to travel, this course lays the foundation for all others by providing a background to industry terminology, trends, research techniques and consumer demands.
PSK4 / Professional Skills
This course is designed to equip students with interpersonal skills identified by employers as essential for success in the professional world. Using a variety of instructional methods including case studies, group exercises, and discussion, students learn and practice key communication skills.
PRAC (T&T) / Practicum (Travel & Tourism)
This program includes a practicum component consisting of work at a job site. This practicum work experience is a mandatory diploma requirement and the business organization does not pay for the services of the student during the practicum.
