Team from Surrey campus rides the Heart and Stroke Big Bike around

Surrey, BC – May 15, 2014 – Staff and students from Vancouver Career College’s Surrey campus rode the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. The 20-member team pedaled around the city’s Guilford area, raising over $1,000 in support of heart disease and stroke research.

“The staff and students at Vancouver Career College in Surrey are committed to making a difference in their community,” said Larry Heinzlmeir, Vice President of Marketing for Vancouver Career College. “The Big Bike event allowed them to have fun while supporting heart disease and stroke research.”

The Heart and Stroke Big Bike is a crucial fundraiser for the Foundation with more than 200 communities across the country host Heart and Stroke Big Bike events every year. Teams can raise funds by collecting donations from friends, family members, coworkers and employers. All funds raised ensure the Foundation can continue to provide Canadians with the resources to help reduce the risk factors of heart disease and stroke.

The Big Bike is just one of the many community events Vancouver Career College campuses take part in every year. Visit our Upcoming Events page to learn more about what’s happening at our campuses.
