Beat the Winter Blahs
The weather can often affect our mood. The cold winters and shorter days mean we spend less time outside soaking up much needed sunshine and vitamin D. This can cause you to feel more blue than usual. So how can we fight the winter blahs?
Exercise daily, start taking vitamin D and give into the season.
Wrap up warm and enjoy exercising outside, visit the gym or try something new like swimming, indoor rock climbing or hockey. Boost your immune system with vitamin D. You can find it in some foods or you can take a supplement. Spending time outside is good for soaking up some vitamin D too.
Give into the season by enjoying a slower pace this winter. Spending more time indoors should be enjoyable. Play games, share in a new hobby, take a class or just catch up with the people in your life. Surrounding yourself with friends and family who make you smile and laugh are sure ways to beat the winter blahs.

Massage and Mental Health
Massage is not just a method used to assist in relaxation but has been found to be effective in helping a wide range of patients including those in intensive care, childbirth, and even cancer patients. There’s also evidence that massage therapy has mental health benefits as well. Surprising to some,
massage therapy is used to reduce stress and encourage relaxation, as well as a treat different forms of mental health illnesses and disorders.
Massage provides significant benefits to those who deal with anxiety, panic attacks and even depression, but is just as effective at helping ease tension after a particularly stressful time at home or the office. During high stress times, like the holidays, a good massage may be what our bodies and minds need most.
Because massage is effective in reducing muscle tension and pain, it also increases blood circulation, which helps to prevent stress-related injuries. Better blood flow means a healthier heart, more energy and increased productivity in daily activities which all contribute to positive effects on your mental health.
