Seats still available for PN program at Vancouver Career College's Burnaby campus

Burnaby, BC - October 26, 2009 - Licensed Practical Nurses continue to be in high demand in British Columbia. The retirement of current LPNs, combined with an increased need for nursing care from the province's aging population, is driving the demand in this career field. Anyone looking to launch a health care career can turn to Vancouver Career College Practical Nursing program, which is now taking applications for a November start.

"There is still a major shortage of nurses in BC," says Rodney King, Nursing Registrar at Vancouver Career College. "The Practical Nursing program only takes one year, so students can be working in the field very quickly."

The 52-week PN program trains students in a variety of areas, building a skill set that will be transferable to careers in hospitals, private clinics and nursing homes. Students also take part in multiple practicum placements that prepare them to enter the workforce. More information about the program can be found at http://www.VCCollege.ca/View/College_Programs/Healthcare_Programs

Vancouver Career College will accept applications for the Practical Nursing program starting until November 23, 2009 when the program begins in Burnaby.
